CASTLES AND MANOR HOUSES
Historically fascinating is Sweden’s oldest wooden manor house dated around 1660. Another nobleman of the region who loved beautiful views was Per Brahe, whose hunting castle Brahälla from 1680 now stands in ruins and looks out from a cliff over Lake Noen. Säby church is a beautiful medieval church from the 11th century about six kilometers south of Tranås with many interesting and periodical fixtures.

If you like good art, then you must visit Leif Liljeblad’s studio at Adelövs Prästgård. Eva Boström and Ann-Christine Jensmar are other artists who have achievs great success. Exhibitions and paintings can be found at Gallery Konstgården, Piratenhuset and Tranås town hall.
Come and enjoy the works of Tranås talented artisans, artists and craftsmen and buy unique handmade gifts. Farmers’ markets and farm shops sell everything from cheeses, chocolates and spices to jewellery, art and handicrafts. Fill your picnic basket or buy gifts straight from the shelves of the people who made them. Tranås’ reputation for hides and furs is borne out at Ateljé Guldtackan, which specializes in lamb and sheepskin garments and home decorations. THE OLD VILLAGE OF HULTET
Here you will experience the history, culture and natural environment at one and the same time at the glittering lake Sommen. Here are about 20 cultural history interesting buildings and over 7000 objects gathered. Buildings and fixtures tell about the old peasant culture from the beginning of the 1700s, 1800s and 1900s. Eriksbergs Museum is located on Storgatan in central Tranås. From the year 1884 and 100 years ahead, the building appeared as a school, Eriksberg Folkskola, but in 1985 it was reinvented and became the museum you can visit today.
